When are Cambridge past papers released?

Cambridge releases the question papers, mark schemes and grade thresholds for each exam series on the day that series’ results come out — to schools, through its School Support Hub. The full examiner reports usually follow four to six weeks later. So the November 2026 papers reach schools on 7 January 2027 for AS & A Level and on 14 January 2027 for IGCSE.

The public Cambridge website is a different story: it shows only a selection, and lags well behind. In September 2026 the newest papers on its 0580 and 9709 pages were from June 2024 — one variant of each paper.

Release dates by series

Papers and mark schemes arrive with the results, so the release date is the results date. Cambridge’s published dates for 2026:

AS & A Level results come out a week before IGCSE in both series. Cambridge had not announced the March 2027 date when this page was last updated; it will be added when it is.

Where papers appear, and when

School Support Hub — results day. Question papers, mark schemes and grade thresholds for every variant go to registered Cambridge schools on results day. Teachers log in; students usually get papers through their school. Material more than five years old is removed — partly because the syllabus moves on, and partly because Cambridge’s permission to publish some material (texts, images) is typically granted for five years only.
Examiner reports — four to six weeks later. The report on how candidates actually did, question by question, is the most useful document of the three and the last to arrive.
Cambridge’s public website — a selection, years later. Each syllabus page carries a small set of papers for anyone to download, with the note that it is only a selection. For 0580 and 9709 in September 2026 that set was June 2024, variant 1 of each paper, with its mark scheme and examiner report.

One more change to expect: from March 2026 Cambridge redesigned the layout and formatting of its question papers for accessibility. The content, demand and question types are unchanged, so older papers are still fair practice — they just look different.

The three exam series

Cambridge examines in three series a year. The code on a paper tells you which (how to read a paper code):

February/March — code F/M, filename letter m. The smallest series; for 9709 Cambridge offers it in India only.
May/June — M/J, s. The main series, with results in August.
October/November — O/N, w. Results the following January.

Common questions

When will the November 2026 Cambridge papers be released?

On results day: 7 January 2027 for AS & A Level, and 14 January 2027 for IGCSE and O Level. They go to schools through the School Support Hub on those dates.

Are the June 2026 papers out yet?

Yes, to schools. They were released with the results — 11 August 2026 for AS & A Level and 18 August 2026 for IGCSE. Examiner reports followed a few weeks later.

Can students get papers from the School Support Hub?

The Hub is for registered Cambridge schools, so papers reach students through their teachers. Cambridge’s public site offers a small selection that anyone can download.

Why can I not find papers older than five years?

Cambridge removes assessment material more than five years old from the School Support Hub: syllabuses change, and permission to reproduce some of the material in papers is usually granted for five years.

When do grade boundaries come out?

The same day as the results, alongside the papers and mark schemes.
