Privacy Notice

• Who you are: your name and email (from signup), plus school and country if you chose to tell us — both optional.
• Your learning record: the questions you attempt, the answers you type, your self-marked scores, skill mastery, saved questions, and mock results. This is the whole point of Quanta — it's how the app knows what to recommend next.
• Tutor conversations: messages you send to the in-app AI tutor.
• Error reports you file about questions or marking.

That's it. No ads, no advertising trackers, no third-party analytics, no selling data — to anyone, ever.

Four companies help run Quanta, each with one job:

• Supabase — stores the database and handles login (hosted in Singapore).
• OpenAI — generates the tutor's explanations. Your messages are sent to their API to produce a reply; OpenAI does not train its models on this data.
• Vercel — hosts the website.
• Sentry — tells us when the app crashes so we can fix it.

When you join a class, your teacher or tutor can see your practice activity, skill mastery, weak areas, and your conversations with the in-app tutor — that's what makes their dashboard useful, and we want you to know it up front. Not in a class? Then no teacher sees anything.

Where Quanta is provided through your school or tutor, they act as the data controller and we process data on their instructions. A data processing agreement is available to any school on request.

Quanta doesn't scan tutor conversations or error reports for risk in real time — there's no automated detection running today. What does exist: if you're in a class, your teacher already sees your practice activity and your full conversation history with the AI tutor as part of how their dashboard works (see “If you're in a class” above) — that visibility is the mechanism by which a concern in your own writing would actually be seen by an adult.

If you're worried about your own safety or someone else's — anything you've written to the tutor, or seen from another student — don't wait for Quanta to notice. Tell a teacher, your school's safeguarding lead, or another trusted adult directly, and separately email petershao67@gmail.com so we know too.

• While your account is active: we keep your learning record so your progress tracking keeps working.
• If you delete your account: everything is erased immediately — profile, sessions, answers, mastery history, tutor chats, the lot. Encrypted database backups roll off within 30 days.
• If you stop using Quanta: accounts inactive for 24 months are deleted, with an email warning first.

You don't have to email anyone. Go to Account → Delete my account inside the app — it takes two clicks and works immediately. You can also email petershao67@gmail.com to ask for a copy of your data, a correction, or deletion, and we'll do it within 30 days.

Quanta is built for IGCSE and A-Level students, so most of our users are 14–18. If that's you: use Quanta with the knowledge of a parent, guardian, or your school. If you're a parent with questions, email us — a human reads it. See “Safeguarding” above for what to do if something feels wrong.
